Final Fantasy 1 Terra Cavern

Items: 27,120 Gil (Total), Antidote, Potion x2, Tent x2, Sleeping Bag
Equipments: Leather Shield, Coral Sword, Great Axe, Mythril Helm, Mythril Shield, Staff
Key Items: Star Ruby, Earth Rod

This is one confusing dungeon. So I'll have you return to the entrance often. Now start off by heading north, and follow the path into a room containing a "1,975 GIL" treasure. Backtrack to the entrance and this time go southeast. At the next fork, proceed left to pick up "880 GIL" & a "POTION". Return to the split, then right to a room with an "ANTIDOTE" & "795 GIL". Once again, make your way back to the entrance. Go east, follow the path to a staircase leading to B2.

The southwest-most room in this area contains 3 treasure chests with a total of "5,575 GIL" as well as a "LEATHER SHIELD". The room to the east has a "CORAL SWORD", "TENT" & "330 GIL". Once you have everything, go southeast, then take the stairs to B3.

In this room, head east to a room with a "SLEEPING BAG". Then north into another room for a "POTION", but you can't get it until you defeat the Gnoma that's guarding the treasure. Now head to the west room to pick up "3,400 GIL", after dispatching a Gnoma. Next, go left and down to yet another room containing "1020 GIL". And finally head down a bit, then take a right into a room for a boss fight.

Boss: Vampire
HP: 156 | EXP: 1200 | GIL: 2000

This won't be a long battle at all. A few rounds of Fire and Dia spells, should end it real quick. Its capable of dishing out nasty physical attacks though, so keep an eye on your party's HPs.

After that battle, pick up the "STAR RUBY" from the chest. You're supposed to go further down this cave, but you won't be able to proceed yet. So leave Terra Cavern for now.

You can go back to Melmond to rest at the Inn if you like. From there, head west until you see another cave. Go in. Now give the Star Ruby to the golem here, it'll then move away to let you pass. Now, head west then south into a room with some treasures -- "GREAT AXE", "620 GIL", "450 GIL" & "MYTHRIL HELM". Exit the cave using the stairs up north.

You'll emerge at a different area on the world map. Just head south into the Sage's Cave. Make your way to the room at the west side. There, talk to the sage and he'll give you the "EARTH ROD". With that in your possession, go back to the Vampire's chamber at Terra Cavern. Once there, go through the other door, and use the Earth Rod to break the stone tablet on the north wall. (You have to select the Earth Rod from the "Key Items" sub-menu.) Continue down to B4.

Proceed southwest to yet another treasure room -- It contains a "STAFF" "3,400 GIL", "1455 GIL", "5,450 GIL" & "520 GIL". Backtrack to the entrance and head southwest to pick up the lst set of treasures in this cave -- "TENT", "MYTHRIL SHIELD", & "1,250 GIL". Exit this room. Head to B5 via the stairs at the northwest section of this area.

Here, go north then west, south then west. Go into the room for another boss fight.

Boss: Lich
HP: 800 | EXP: 2200 | GIL: 3000

This can be tough. Lich has 2 weaknesses -- Fire & Dia magics. He also uses Ice 2 & Bolt 2, which hits your entire party. So cast NullIce first, then NullBolt if possible. Lich's Sleep spell misses quite often so don't worry too much about that one. His physical attacks are quite weak, but it does cause paralysis so beware.

Cast Haste on your magicians, then have them use Fire 2 & Dia 2 as much as possible. Physical attacks don't do much damage against this boss, but despite that, don't hesitate to have your attackers hit him, or even use healing items on your characters, if your mages can't use curative spells.

Activate the portal to go back to the world map afterwards. Walk towards Melmond, save and rest at the Inn. Take your ship and sail south, then west past Titan's Cave. You should be at the Crescent continent now. Dock at the port and make your way south, west then north around the river bank, to get to the next town.
